Nice through the centuries
Nice, nicknamed Nice La Bello (Nice the beautiful) is the fifth most populous city of France, and sits on the east coast on the Mediterranean Sea. There are signs of life on there that are dated at 230,000 years; but it was around 350 BC that there is documented human activity. The Greeks of Massilia made their home there and named it Nikaia to celebrate the victory against the neighbouring Ligurians.
